anemia treatmentAnemia Treatment?

I am a male in my mid 20s. I have suspected for some time that I may be anemic, especially since it is common in my family. I often experience fatigue and other symptoms of anemia. It was finally confirmed by one of my doctors recently that I did, in fact, have a slight iron deficiency. I have not yet seen my family doctor concerning the issue. My question is... Is there anyone out there who has been diagnosed with iron deficiency anemia and received treatment. If so, what was the result of the treatment? Was there a significant change in health (more energy, strength, change in mood, etc) after treatment? I just started taking a multi-vitamin with iron recanemia treatmentently
(Mens One-A-Day Active) in hopes that it will improve my general well-being, if in fact the anemia is the cause of many of my problems. Thank you
Yes, I'm anemic secondary to another medical condition that causes it. I've been prescribed iron pills to take daily and I take in more iron in my diet. I've noticed that I'm not nearly as tired as I was without treating it.
Most multivitamins don't have nearly enough iron in them to reverse anaemia. Go to your pharmacy and get a specific iron supplement, like ferrogradumet. It's a good one, and it's cheap.
I am Anemic too and I take a combo drug with iron in. It has folic acid B vitamins , and other stuanemia treatmentff. I was told i can swich now to otc iron. It is cheaper. I feel less tired on it.
Always talk to your doctor first, but eat food that is high in iron. Liver and other organ meats and dark green leafy vegetales. There are tons of food look it up on the web. Plus there are so many over the counter iron supplements it is ridiculous. Women have this problem more than men. Guess Why? Yes, you will feel better. Iron produces red blood cells. Red blood cells brings oxygen to the brain. The more iron, the redder the blood, the more oxygen, the better you feel. It is simple. Give it a week, you will feel better.
